Cream and black resin under a gold-tone monogram, stamped with its year. A Givenchy logo pendant that dates itself precisely to 1977.
This Givenchy pendant necklace is stamped 'GIVENCHY 1977' on the reverse. A round pendant of cream and black resin carries a raised gold-tone monogram, on a box chain.
A logo pendant that carries its own date.
Hubert de Givenchy opened his Paris house in 1952. In the 1970s, like the other couture houses, it offered costume jewellery under its name alongside its clothes.
During the 1970s house monograms became a recognised element of luxury accessories, worn as a sign of the house rather than hidden on a label.
The split cream and black ground gives a graphic base to the polished monogram. The pendant measures approximately 4.5–5 cm across, on a chain of approximately 60–70 cm with a spring-ring clasp.
A graphic ground for the monogram.
The dated stamp places the necklace precisely in 1977, a quality valued by collectors of signed costume jewellery.
Signed logo jewellery from the 1970s Paris houses draws steady interest.
Resin and plated surfaces mark with wear, so dated pieces in excellent condition are fewer.
House monograms remain a recurring reference in contemporary jewellery and accessories.
