A fashion magazine handing its cover to artists. Tillmans, Verhoeven and Ofili, three practices that meet fashion in different ways, in one limited edition.
This limited-edition issue belongs to Bazaar Art, the annual art edition of British Harper's Bazaar, and is associated with Wolfgang Tillmans, Julie Verhoeven and Chris Ofili.
A fashion title, handed to artists.
Bazaar Art launched in October 2013 with six covers by Tracey Emin, Martin Creed, Gary Hume, Sam Taylor-Johnson, Jeff Koons and Yayoi Kusama. The 2014 edition followed with covers including Tillmans, Takashi Murakami and Howard Hodgkin.
Tillmans won the Turner Prize in 2000 and has worked across fashion and art since the 1990s. Ofili won the Turner Prize in 1998. Verhoeven moves between fashion collaborations and gallery practice.
The Tillmans association points to the second Bazaar Art edition, published with the November 2014 issue under a logo drawn from early Harper's covers.

Alternative artist covers in limited numbers make these editions a record of how fashion publishing commissioned contemporary art directly.
Magazine covers commissioned from contemporary artists draw collectors of both art and fashion publishing.
Each artist cover was printed in limited numbers, so individual editions are fewer than the standard issue.
Collaborations between artists and fashion titles remain a continuing strand of contemporary publishing.
