It presents Audrey Hepburn as Eliza Doolittle in George Cukor's adaptation of the Lerner and Loewe musical.

Produced by Jack L. Warner for Warner Bros., My Fair Lady premiered in New York on 21 October 1964 and won eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor for Rex Harrison. Two of those awards went to Cecil Beaton, for costume design and, with Gene Allen, for art direction; his Edwardian costumes for Hepburn, above all the black-and-white Ascot gown, became one of the best-known episodes in the relationship between cinema and fashion. In Italy, film publicity was not simply adapted from American material but commissioned from local painters. Giuliano Nistri (Rome, 1926 – Anzio, 2022) worked for Warner Bros., Paramount, Titanus and Lux among others and is credited with around 2,500 posters over more than three decades, including Hitchcock's Dial M for Murder and Antonioni's La Notte. His brother Enzo Nistri painted the Italian artwork for Breakfast at Tiffany's. For My Fair Lady he worked in a softer, more delicate register than in his dramatic chiaroscuro posters.

The poster is a printed original from the film's Italian release, with painted artwork by Nistri centred on Hepburn.

Italian posters are collected separately from American and British material because they carry original painted artwork rather than adapted photography. This one connects three subjects of lasting interest: Audrey Hepburn, Cecil Beaton's costume design and the Italian school of poster painting. It will appeal to collectors of film and fashion ephemera and to anyone assembling material on Hepburn or Beaton.

https://www.thearchivary.com/en-in/products/1964-my-fair-lady-italian-original-cinema-poster-giuliano-nistri-audrey-hepburn
